THEFOUNDER.

Temukisa Inailau

Born in San Francisco, California and raised in Sacramento, my roots will always lead back to Samoa. Creativity has been a part of me for as long as I can remember—fromphotography and graphic design to web design and music. I’ve always found ways to create, but for a long time, I never fully understood what those gifts were meant for.

I wanted that to change. Matalena Mailelagi was born from a desire to use what God placed in me for something greater—to create with purpose, to honor where I come from, and most importantly, to glorify Christ.

My middle name, Matalena, carries a piece of my identity, while Mailelagi means “sent from heaven.” Together, they became the foundation of something bigger than clothing.

Matalena Mailelagi is my way of showing that culture can be more than something we preserve—it can be a tool to share the Gospel. Our heritage, creativity, stories, and identity can all point back to the ONE who gave them to us. This is more than what I wear. It’s what I was sent to do.

Sent from heaven for a purpose.

THEBRAND.

Matalena Mailelagi was birthed out of obedience and trusting Christ with the gifts He has given me.

What began as a creative outlet became something much greater—a calling to use my creativity in a way that honors God, celebrates my Samoan heritage, and creates something meaningful for my community. I believe the gifts we carry are not ours by accident. They are gifts from God, and I want to steward mine with intention, creativity, and obedience.

Matalena Mailelagi is my yes. A yes to trusting Christ, A yes to submitting my creativity to Him. & A yes to honoring my culture. I was gifted by Christ, for Christ.

& Saved to make a difference for my culture.
